NALECZOW
Naleczow is a city in the district of Pulawy which is located in Lublin Province. It is the administrative seat of the urban and rural county of Naleczow and lying within the Kazimierz Landscape Park in the north western section of Lublin Uplands on the Naleczow Plateau. The resort has the characteristics of a lowland spa found at the confluence of the River Bochotniczanka and the River Bystra which is a tributary of the River Vistula. The resort benefits from a lowland climate that is mildly stimulating and moderated by the surrounding terrain and lush vegetation. Naleczow lies in the warmest bioclimatic region of the country.
A LITTLE HISTORY OF THE CITY... The original settlement on this site was called Bochotnica. Its origins can be dated back to turn of the 8th and 9th centuries, when a castle was built on the hill, known today as Mount Poniatowski, which overlooked the surrounding area
By 1928 Naleczow obtained the status of a spa which, since then, has operated under the management of the Spa Council. Another suspension in operation occurred due to the outbreak of World War II but Naleczow was back in business by In 1963 Naleczow received its city rights.
SOME MONUMENTS OF THE CITY The most valuable monument of the town is the Palace of the Malachowski family. It is located at the end of Lipowa Street and is surrounded by a beautiful, old park. Nowadays, the palace hosts a museum ad memoriam Boleslaw Prus, where one can find many exhibits concerning the author's person.
Another monument of Naleczow is also a baroque church from years A grave of Michael Andriolli - a marvelous Italian painter and graphic can be found on the churchyard. The park surrounding the palace was set up in the mid 17th century, and further extended in the following century to meet the needs of visitors coming to the spa.
THE TRANSPORT OF THE CITY. 1. get a flight to Warsaw 2. BUS from Warsaw Airport "PORT LOTNICZY IM. F.CHOPINA" to Warsaw Central Railway Station "DW. CENTRALNY" - (2,80 PLN, 25 min) PORT LOTNICZY IM. F.CHOPINA 02 or 04 - name of bus-stop 175 (a bus, without changes). You should go out from the bus on DW. CENTRALNY 3. TRAIN from Warsaw Central Railway Station to Naleczow - (~30 PLN, 2 hours). All trains from Warsaw to Lublin have a stop in Naleczow.
