Conductors: Objects allowing the flow of charge through the material EX: Copper wires used in your home electrical circuits Insulators: A material whose internal electric charges DO NOT flow freely, blocking current from flowing freely through the material. EX: Rubber tubing surrounding the copper wiring

Semi-Conductors: Partial Insulator/ Partial Conductor EX: These are used in the computer industry to produce component parts (such as chips) Super-Conductors: Can allow electrical current to flow freely WITHOUT ANY ENERGY LOSS EX: Boron and Cadmium metal rods used in the process of nuclear fission
