Are you a good listener?

Listening Skills Real listening is a process which has 3 basic steps… Hearing – You need to be able to hear what the speaker is saying in order to listen. Understanding – You need to take in what the speaker is saying and understand it in your own way. Judging – You have understood what the speaker has said and now you need to decide whether you think it makes sense or whether you believe what they have said.

Listening Skills When somebody is talking should you… Look out of the window Look at the person who is talking Look at your shoes

What are you doing after school? When somebody is talking should you should look at the person who is talking to you. What are you doing after school?

Listening Skills If somebody asks you a question you should… Ignore them Shrug your shoulders Answer appropriately
