Drawing and Painting Ms. Livoti

Aim: How can you apply a variety of line weights to your drawing? Tues 12-1 HW: last november sketchbooks due today. Do Now: Compare and Contrast the simple diagram- which line appears to come forward?

Line Weight Line weight is a term that describes the relative 'weight' - strength, heaviness, or darkness - of the line against the background or support. It is governed by the pressure on your drawing tool as you make your line - whether this is decreasing or increasing the pressure on the tip so that it leaves behind more or less medium - or altering the angle so that more of the tip is in contact with the paper. Thicker lines come closer to use. Thicker lines suggest a more weighted side of an object Thin lines suggest delicate weight, they recede into space One line can move from thin to thick

Aim: How can you continue to apply zentangle techniques to your foreshortened image? Do Now: Look in sketchbook and choose a zentangle pattern that you definitely would like to use in your project. Wed 12-2 HW: Create a drawing that blends an anatomy drawing with observational figure drawing to express a new meaning. Due Friday 12-4

Aim: How can your patterns create a sense contrast and space? Thurs 12-3 Do Now: compare and contrast the images- which creates more contrast space?

Aim: How can you begin to add finishing details to your foreshortened figure drawing? Do Now: Answer the checklist Friday 12-4 Checklist: Did you include at least 3 different experimental watercolor techniques? Did you use harmonious color choices that reflect a mood? Did you use detailed pattern? Did you show proportion through foreshortening? Did you show proportion through the scale of patterns? Did you use contrast so all parts of the drawing are visible? HW: Combine anatomy drawing with observational figure drawing to create a complex drawing that expresses an idea. Due tomorrow!

Aim: How can you make final artistic decisions regarding your foreshortened figure drawing? Do Now: Swap your drawing and provide feedback to your peer regarding final artistic decisions Monday 12-7 Project is due Wed. Quiz tomorrow!
