Presentation transcript:

Volunteer Stream Monitoring Pilot Program Details -Seven local stream segments -Four monitoring groups -Four named streams; one unnamed tributary -Mandatory training and optional refresher Required Volunteer Commitment -Stream Walkers: Complete Habitat Assessment once per year and visual assessments at least quarterly, record temperature and specific conductivity and pick up trash. -Stream Team Monitors: In addition to duties for Stream Walkers, Stream Team Monitors test for nitrate, phosphorus, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, pH, turbidity and fecal coliform bacteria)

Volunteer Monitoring Form Data Entry = Staff Time

Pre-Collection Model – Extract Related Record and Create Collection Layer

Volunteer interface created with ArcGIS Online Web AppBuilder

Post-Collection Model – Update Related Table with Collected Records

Ongoing Challenges Offline Editing – Unsuccessful so far Need to automate models via Python scripts ArcGIS Online Logins – Not enough for all volunteers, using one shared login initially

Latest Developments ArcGIS Collector now supports related tables! (sort of) – Only works with ArcGIS Online Services – Must use ArcMap or Collector (no browser-based editing) – May complicate the user experience use-collector-for-arcgis/
