Allocation of Funds  $700M will be split equally among the state and federal trustees  Each of the Gulf states will receive $100 million  NOAA and DOI will receive $100 million  $300M will be used to fund state sponsored restoration projects based upon impacts.

Timeline  State trustees are currently accepting and evaluating restoration projects  May 18 – Trustees meet to develop decision making framework  June 1-3 – States begin submitting projects to Trustee Council for inclusion in early restoration plans

Early Restoration Plan Development  In accordance with the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, applicable federal regulations and the framework agreement, the trustees will use the money to fund projects such as the:  rebuilding of coastal marshes,  replenishment of damaged beaches,  conservation of sensitive areas and ocean habitat for injured fish and wildlife,  and restoration of barrier islands and wetlands
