DECA’s Competitive Events Program What’s in it for you?

DECA’s Competitive Events Program As a DECA member, you have a chance to move your classroom learning onto a bigger stage as you demonstrate your skills through competitive events.

So what’s in it for you? TRAVEL to local, state/province and international conferences – At local/district/regional competition you get your feet wet as you represent yourself and your DECA chapter close to home. Travel (cont.) –If you qualify for state/provincial competition, you travel to the competition site and try your hand at the next level. (Events that have role-play components start at the local level. In most states/provinces, written event participants enter their projects at the state/provincial level. Travel (cont.) –At the International Career Development Conference (ICDC), the final stage of competition, qualifiers travel to a major city and join in activities that bring together 14,000 students, advisors, and businesspeople.
