Update on work of ETIC* Computer Science Task Force and Oregon Pre-engineering & Technology Industry Council Jay Bockelman April 18, 2008 * Engineering & Technology Industry Council

Saturday, May 17th 8AM - 3PM Chemeketa Community College Salem, Oregon TechStart Education Foundation and the Oregon University System will be presenting the first annual high school game programming competition: the Oregon Game Project Challenge 1.0 Volunteer Opportunities!

Judges Participate in a panel that will be evaluating the teams and their games across several categories including Game Design, Programming, Teamwork, Game Experience, and Presentation. Needed for about 6-7 hours for the tournament from approximately 8am - 3pm. We will be holding a judge training session in early May that will last about 1 hour that judges can attend in person or via teleconference. No specific expertise is necessary Register by sending name and address to Chris Brooks

Other Key Volunteer Positions Judge Queuers—act as time-keepers, making sure that judging stays on schedule. Registration Manager & Clerks—greet teams and orient them to the tournament. Arcade Managers & Assistants—make sure teams observe arcade rules. Scorekeeper—coordinate with judges and other volunteers to produce a team score. Technical Presenters—Do you have a technical skill/expertise you would like to share with students? Emcee—Preside over the awards ceremony and make announcements at the tournament..
