Presentation transcript:

Effects on Ecosystems: The trees they like are decreasing, such as willow, horse chestnut, and elm. Organisms that live in trees have lost their homes after the Asian Longhorn Beetle kills the tree. The loss of trees in New York City causes hotter summers, lowers the quality of the air, and makes the city look less beautiful.

Reasons for Success: They're successful because they have fewer natural predators, so that's why it can live in the new environment and doesn't die. Also, when they infest a tree, people can't see the the pupae in the tree. Usually when people see the beetle, it is an an adult which then move on to another tree leaving the infested tree behind and can reproduce. Reasons for Success: They're successful because they have fewer natural predators, so that's why it can live in the new environment and doesn't die. Also, when they infest a tree, people don't see the pupae in the tree. Usually when people see the beetle, it is an adult, and by then can move on to another tree leaving the infested tree behind and can reproduce. Another important thing is the temperature of their environment is similar to their original environment.
