The Sentence In most sentences, the Subject comes first, and right after the Subject, you find the Verb. Jason walked to class.

Adjectives Adjectives always appear in front of the Subject and describe the Subject. Subject Verb Jason walked. Adjective An engaged Jason walked to class.

Adjectives describe the Subject, and Adverbs describe the Verb. Subject Verb Jason walked to class. Jason walked Adverb slowly to class.

Adverbs Jason walked slowly to class. Subject Adverb Verb Unlike Adjectives, Adverbs can come before or after the Verb, or even can be separated from the Verb! Subject Verb Adverb Jason walked slowly to class. Subject Adverb Verb Jason slowly walked to class. Adverb Subject Verb Slowly Jason walked to class.
