Direct & Indirect Objects Find the verb in sentence Ask who or what of the verb – answer is subject Ask of the subject and verb what – answer is direct object NOW Ask of the subject, verb, direct object to whom or for whom – answer is indirect object

Direct & Indirect Objects Let’s take a look! She handed the man a piece of paper. What is she doing? – handing (V) Who or what handed? – She (S) She handed what? – piece (DO She handed piece to whom? – man (IDO) Follow the line of questioning and get the answers. Trust what you are doing!
