In simple terms a volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of molten rock magma below the surface of the earth. It is a hole in the Earth from which molten rock and gas erupt.

Interview with a volcano What is your name? Where are you located? What type of volcano are you? What are some of your features? What type of eruption do you usually have? Are you active, dormant, extinct, or intermittent? When was your last eruption?

Mount St. Helens

answers 1.My name is Mount St. Helens. 2.I am Located in Skamania county Washington, in the pacific Northwest region of the united states. 3.I am active strato volcano. 4.I am a large eruptive cone with lava rock, ash, pumice, and other deposits. 5.I am well known for ash explosions and pyroclastic (rock material) flows. 6.For now I am a sleeping volcano. 7.My last eruption or time I exploded was May 18,1980.

A short video of Mount St Helen.

One day I hope to study more about volcanoes.
