GROUP WORK 11 (GROUP 3 - MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥NEPAL 1)Challenge - Lack of Legislation / Interference from Government on Freedom of Association & the Right to Collective Bargaining due to the current state of emergency (Violation of Conventions : 87 & 98) 2) ILO Mechanism - File a complaint to the Committee on FOA.

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥NEPAL 3) National /International Measures - Report to ICFTU (which NTUC is affiliated) to put pressure on the government /king to restore back the Freedom of Association rights to the tripartite partners. ICFTU to file a complaint on the union’s behalf.

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥SAMOA 1)Challenge - No law / provision for Redundancy Package for workers in the private sector (all workers in the private sector) - Convention 111/100 are already ratified For example : Public sector workers get 7 days of basic wage per year of service. - There is discrimination between the 2 sectors (Violation of Convention : 111)

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥SAMOA 2) ILO Mechanism - STUC to file a representation (under Article 24) to indicate that member has not ensured effective observance of the convention within its jurisdiction. 3) National /International Measures - Negotiate with the government to amend the legislation to include all workers for the redundancy package.

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥PAKISTAN 1)Challenge - Convention 138 not ratified. Law is there (any child below 14 yrs can work especially in the carpet / football industry) (Violation of convention : 138 – On Minimum Age for Child Labour)

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥PAKISTAN 2) ILO Mechanism - To file comments under Annual Review under the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (to indicate that it is the basic core convention of ILO) 3) National /International Measures - Negotiate with the government to amend the legislations on the Minimum Age to be in line with ILO standards, to define what is Hazardous work)

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥SINGAPORE 1)Challenge - Convention 111 not ratified - There is no specific legislation in the employment /IR act on protection on workers against discrimination suffering from HIV/AIDs & Disabled Workers.

GROUP WORK 11 (MEMBERS : MITRA,TAU, CHOUDHARY, SYLVIA) ♥SINGAPORE 2) ILO Mechanism - To file comments under Annual Review under the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (to indicate that it is the basic core convention of ILO) 3) National /International Measures - Negotiate with the government to implement law or ILO Code of Conduct /Practice for these areas - Organise more social dialogue
