U.S. Department of Agriculture eGovernment Program 9 eGovernment Opportunity Areas The steps to decide the final candidates for Smart Choices are as follows: 1. Start with the 5 Strategic areas that were in the top 12 across all ranking schemes and the 5 Enablers necessary to implement those 5 Strategic areas 2. Each Executive Council member will have an opportunity to submit ONE additional Opportunity area to be included in the final vote. 3. Vote Yea or Nay on each opportunity area to keep as a Smart Choice candidate 4. Tabulate the votes and decide where the cutoff point is in the Strategic areas and the Enabling areas NOTE:  An opportunity area that is not among the Smart Choices will still be included in the USDA eGovernment strategic plan

Goal 2: Public and Private Organizations Enhance collaboration with public and private sector organizations to develop and deliver USDA’s mission.
