Welcome to the lesson!

Let's play a game and warm up! Exercise № 1 Introduce yourself and say that you like a product witch begins with the same letter as your name! For example: I am Anya. I like apples.

Let's check your homework! Exercise A page 113. You had to write a list of your ten favourite things and then say what is good and what is bad for you!

ACTSDECFOS TGEEHIUKNA ROALLOCMIU EHMBTNUPOS PARALEMONA PMTTTSBTUG EOVEWOEXYE PZAGCARROT LMNEORANGE KHOVAPPLEF CHEESEMEAT RICEBUTTER JUICESWEET MUSHROOMSR

Horizontally: mushroom, juice, sweet, rice, butter, cheese, meat, apple, orange, carrot, lemon.(11) Vertically: cucumber, onion, sausage, pepper, vegetable.(5) Diagonally: tomato, potato, tea.(3)

«Food» Countable and uncountable nouns.

Nouns that we can count are countable nouns! We put the article a or an before them in singular form! We also use verb is when the noun is in singular form. In plural form we never use articles a or an and we use the verb are with them. Nouns that we cannot count are uncontable nouns. We never use the article with the uncountable nouns and we always use them with the verb is.

Uncountable noun. Countable nouns.

Exercise №3. Fill in the gaps with is or are. 1.There … some butter in the trolley. 2. There … two apples on the plate. 3.There … ten oranges on the table. 4.There … four cucambers on the plate. 5.There … ham in the trolley. 6.There … bread on the table. 7.There … five eggs on the plate. 8.There … some food in the fridge. 9.There … six sweets in the fridge. 10.There … cheese on the plate.

Now let's have a dynamic pause! Everybody stand up! Let's warm up our arms and legs!

Exercise №4. Listen, read and answer the questions: Why is there no salt in the soup? Guess the meaning of the underlined words.

Exercise №5. Find in the text of exercise №4 countable and uncountable nouns and make sentences with them!

Exercise № 6. Write sentences with these words using constructions there is and there are. Two potatoes, salt, butter, milk, bacon, a pot with water, cheese, ham, two carrots, an apple, yoghurt, three pepers, chocolate, a fish, two onions, some wood, a sausage, a chicken, an orange.

We have a new rule! Negetive sentences with the constructions There is\there are. There are two types of negetive sentences with constructions there is\there are. 1.There is no salt in the soup. 2.There is not any tea in the mug.

Now to work out the rule of negetive sentences with the constructions there is, there are we will do exercises № 7 and 8. Exercise № 7. Make sentences from exercise № 6 negetive. Model: There is no chocolate. There is not any chocolate.

Exercise № 8. Fill in the gaps with no or not any. There is … sugar in my tea. There is … bedroom in that flat. There isn't … water in the mug. There is … any bank in this town. There are … bad students in my class. There aren't … cakes in this shop.

Homework. Exercise № A. Find the odd one out. 1. cucumber, tomato, pepper, bread. 2. potato, nectarine, kiwi, apple. 3. cheese, salt, banana, water. 4. chocolate, onion, yoghurt, ice creem.

Exercise B. Make these sentences negetive. There is some water in the jar. There are some apples on the table. There are three stories on the disc. There is some rice in the dish. I know some people in the room. He speakes five foreign languages. There is some meat in my sandwich.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK!
