Feast of Trumpets

 Lev 23:23-25  23 And the L ORD spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the L ORD.”  Numbers 29: 1-6

 Seventh month  Yom t’Ruah, a day for blowing  Hebrew Hotsotsera (silver trumpets, Numbers 10) and Shofar a ram’s horn  Shofar used at the base of Sinai (Ex 19:16)  Walls of Jericho  Ezra 3, Nehemiah 8

 Seventh month  Rabbi’s considered this the “creation month”  By the NT the Feast became known as Rosh HaShanah, Jewish New Year
