Introduction To John Cabot John Cabot’s real name is Giovanni Cabotto. He was born in Italy 1450 and died lost at sea in 1499. King Henry the 7th from England sent Cabot to Canada while commanding the small ship the Matthew. Sebastian Cabot, his son came along with John Cabot, they claimed Canada for England.

This is a map of John Cabot’s routes

Exploration, inclusive years Although his mission was to find a passage way to Asia he was unsuccessful but he did discover Canada and named many of its islands and capes. He also discovered that Canada was populated with Indians. 1497 and 1498.

Consequences of Exploration, How did it Affect the world The consequences of his exploration are that he got lost at sea and died in 1499. Cabot went on a second, larger expedition in 1498. On this trip it is uncertain if Cabot made it to America. Cabot's expeditions were the first of Britain's claims to Canada.

Reflection I learned that John Cabot was born in 1450-1499. he traveled to many different places such as China, Japan, North America and Canada. Many people say that Cabot died in England lost at sea. I found it interesting that Cabot discovered Canada and Named many of its island and capes.

Fun Facts John Cabot’s real name is Giovanni Cabbotto. He had three sons named Sebastian Ludiciovo and Sancio. There is a lake named after Cabot called Cabot Straight.
