I Am an Animal: Slide Show Main themes: You are... An animal! Different from plants Similar to other animals Different from other animals

This week you are going to track an animal! This animal is one you already know best. Can you guess what it is?

It's you! Human beings are animals, so you are an animal-- and a very interesting one!

Most living things you know are either plants or animals. You know which is which.

But what really makes animals different from plants? Let's look at two differences: Difference #1: Food Plants create their own food. Animals eat other organisms.

Difference #2: Movement Animals move themselves around. Plants can only move in place. They can not go anywhere else unless something moves them.

So all animals have two similarities: they move, and they eat other organisms. There are many more similarities. Can you think of other things you do that another animal does too?

Of course, animals are different from each other, too. What are some things that you can do, but some other animal can not do?

Finally, what are some things other animals can do, but you can not do? Credits >>
