Writing Tip #3 You can use Adjective Clauses and Appositive Phrases to combine information into one sentence and vary your sentence structures.

Adjective Clause An Adjective Clause begins with a relative pronoun and describes (modifies) a noun or a pronoun. The boy who was talking with me is my brother.

There are 5 relative pronouns that can introduce an Adjective Clause: who whom whose which that The girl who won the Spelling Bee is from my high school.

The person whom you met yesterday is my English teacher The person whom you met yesterday is my English teacher. The student whose essay you read is an “A” student. The book which I read over the summer is an American classic.
