What has gone well? 10 Multi Agency Support Teams 3000 trained practitioners (Multi Agency Teams - MAT) 185 CAFs – Interim CAF Database and some management information (early stages) Common Assessment Framework in place Initial case examples demonstrating effective integrated working and positive outcomes Schools engagement Hertfordshire bid successful as an early adopter of eCAF

Next Steps Moving all practitioners to consider “Why not a CAF” – changing ‘referral’ culture Engaging more practitioners and services (e.g. GPs, VCS), and clarifying where specialist services fit Enhancing learning and development opportunities Capturing all CAF and TAC activity Improving communication and guidance Reporting CAF and TACs – Not just numbers… quality of activity and outcomes – are we making a difference?

Next Steps Communicating with and engagement of children, young people and families Developing a shared understanding of practitioner roles & responsibilities Integrated Practice in action: sharing examples of how barriers were tackled & how CAF helped (value added) Developing more support at a district level - leadership and support Agencies and services aligning to the Framework

‘Telling my story only once’ Integrated Practice is an ethos - an approach to supporting children and young people. Replacing all ‘referral’ processes with CAF-based access to services. Improving the experience and outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
