Community picture: The library helps build a stronger community and encourage involvement from all!

Introduce bookmobiles: Bringing the library to those who can’t come to the library themselves… add picture of bookmobile

Like Hospitals Insert picture of hospital Go into details about what bookmobiles offer the hospital like: doing activities and crafts with the children’s unit. Insert pictures and reading stories to the children

3 rd world and rural areas Bookmobiles also allow libraries to reach those in rural areas and third world countries. Insert pictures

Daycares/schools Bookmobiles also visit daycares and specialty schools, bringing education and laughter together by putting on a story times and puppet shows. Insert pictures of children reading

Dogs in the library Another outreach program the library offers is “dogs in the library” – Insert picture of kids reading to dogs. Working with volunteers and animal services, dogs are brought into the library to be played with and read to. – Insert pictures of kids and dogs This allows the children to practice reading and social skills in no pressure atmosphere. – Insert pictures – Change music This program also enhances excitement about reading and has shown to be particularly useful for troubled readers (dyslexic ect..) – Insert picture

Prison outreach Another wonderful outreach program includes going to the prisons. – Insert picture of prison The inmates offer a wide variety of opportunity, whether they are trying to further their education, work on their case, or read for pleasure… – Insert picture of inmate The library is there to help with that! Conclusions The public library offers outreach programs that will bring the resources of the library to the community who aren’t able to make it to the library. The library goal is to make a difference and help the community meet their needs. Outreach programs such as these are essential for community growth.
