FINISHING THE SEMESTER STRONG Advisory December 2, 2015

10 DAYS UNTIL FINAL EXAMS Final exams begin on Wednesday, December 16. That’s ten school days from today. You still have time to improve your grades or fail a class. The choice is yours.

10 DAYS UNTIL FINAL EXAMS If you choose to keep going to improve your grades, speak to each of your teachers TODAY and stay current with your work. We have two Saturday Schools remaining in the semester. Check your teacher’s late work policy to see if you can turn in any make- up work. If you’ve missed your opportunity to turn in late assignments, remember to stay CURRENT. All the work you do today MATTERS!!

MAKE GOOD CHOICES Our attendance policy is REAL. If you accrue more than 15 absences in a class, you will receive no credit in that class, even if you are earning an A. If you have more than 15 absences, attend Saturday School. Talk to your counselor or the FBHS administration if you have any questions. Be sure to attend all your classes!! You have plenty of time to prepare for your final exams. Make a plan to study a little for each of your classes beginning today and you’ll discover that your final exams won’t be that bad. Put your school work first.

GRADE GOALS Each of you should have a Grade Goals paper in your advisory folder. You should have reviewed these goals with your advisory teacher this week. Use these final weeks in the semester to continue working toward your goals. There’s still time to make a difference.

COMMUNICATE Your teachers are here to help. Speak with each of your teachers if you are unsure how to meet your grade goals. Talk to your counselor or advisory teacher if you don’t feel comfortable speaking to one of your teachers. They can help! You have no time to waste so use this time to move your grades forward.

EFFORT = ACHIEVEMENT Invest time in yourself. The amount of effort you put towards your grades will result in your personal achievement. Don’t give up now! You are the only person who can control the outcome of your grades. The semester is coming to a close. The grades you earn now will be on your transcript FOREVER !!

FINISH ON A STRONG NOTE ASSETs is available for extra help. Make an appointment to meet with your teacher if you need extra help. Take advantage of the time remaining. It’s never too late to make a difference. Make your high school years count toward your future. You are in control!
