PORT OF PULA The port is situated in a protected bay in the southwest of the Istrian peninsula and very close to the city centre The port has a variety of purposes and is suitable for international and domestic maritime connections, tourist excursions and a part of the port is used by fishermen for unloadingthe fish The port has international maritime connections with Italy, ports Venezia and Trieste. Passenger traffic from the port is seasonal only and takes place from April to October D omestic maritime connections are also mostly touristic and seasonal from April to October - Poreč, Vrsar, Rovinj, Fažana and National park Brijuni F rom 2015 Pula port is also connected with Split and Mali Lošinj by hydroplane The so-called “Riječki gat – Rijeka pier” is suitable for international maritime connections and for cruisers, ferries and mega yacht s The maximal length of cruise ship on berth is 200 m. For bigger ships there is available 1 anchorage in the port area. - No terminal- Distance from: airport – 7 km, - Main bus station – 1 km - Highway – 4 km

PILOT ACTION - Pula Continuation of the construction of the operational shore in the port of Pula Objective: Main purpose of the investment in the operational shore within the „Riječki gat” is to expand the possibilities and make more functional the port of Pula. The main target is to create a shore that will follow all the needs for reception of vessels whose purpose vary from touristic to passenger and fishing types. The second main purpose of the mentioned banks was to supply an adequate space for acceptance of passengers of short sea lines such as Pula - Zadar, Pula - Trieste, Pula - Venezia and so on.

PILOT ACTION - Pula Continuation of the construction of the operational shore at the „Rijeka pier” in Pula included the underwater excavation of deposited mud, construction of stone bank and installation of concrete blocks in order to create preconditions for a larger number of ships dockings and to increase security of passenger transport total investment: ,33 EUR terminated in October 2015

PORT OF ROVINJ The port is in a walking distance from the city centre The general passenger terminal is located in the north port “Valdibora” Rovinj port has international maritime connections with Italy, ports Venezia and Trieste. Passenger traffic from the port is seasonal only and takes place from April to October. Domestic maritime connections are also mostly touristic and seasonal from March to October. Rovinj port is connected with Poreč, Pula, Vrsar, Umag and Novigrad. The north port “Valdibora ” is suitable for bigger ships, both passenger and cargo. Also, in this port are available 10 berths for vessels below 20 meters. Cruise services are available in the north port “Valdibora”. The maximal length of cruise ship on berth is 150m. For bigger ships there are available 2 anchorages in the port area. No terminal Distance from: Pula airport – 40 km Main bus station – 1 km Highway – 18 km

PILOT ACTION - Rovinj Objective: The investment in Rovinj created the physical preconditions to introduce and establish new cross- border short sea lines between programme’s countries ports fostering passenger transport in the whole Adriatic Ionian basin. The existing lines to the Italian cities of Trieste, Venice and Ravenna are seasonal and insufficient to meet passengers and tourist needs. It will give the possibility to redirect and reinforce the focus on co-operation over sea rather than over land borders. total investment: ,56 EUR terminated in July 2015
