Bell Ringer Greg has $75 and saves $4 each week. Veronica has just started saving by earning $9 each week. How long will it take before they have raised an equal amount of money? What will that amount be?

Today’s Agenda  1. Bell Ringer/Return Tests  2. Introduction to Probability  3. Fundamental Counting Principle  4. Permutations

Where is Probability?

Expressing Probability We will start here!

Fundamental Counting Principle  If one event has “m” possible outcomes and a second event has “n” possible outcomes, then there are m*n total possible outcomes for the two events together.

Permutations  A way of expressing the total number of outcomes from a set or number of things that can be ordered or arranged.

Line Up! How many different ways can three students be ARRANGED at the door?
