Colton’s Summary A lion to guard us is about 3 kids whose names are Amanda, Jemmy, and Meg. Their dad had left for Jamestown and has been gone for quite a wile. The only thing he left was a golden lion doorknocker that gave the kids hope. They live with Mistress Trippett as their servants and their mom is very ill. When their mom dies Amanda thinks she wants to go to live with her father. She mentions it and Mistress Trippett get mad at her. Than se runs to the boat docks to go to Jamestown. When see returns Cook gets mad at her and she sends her to see Mistress Trippett. Then she asks for the money and Mistress Trippett faints. Her son kicks the kids out of the house. Dr. Crider finds them and takes them to his house. He tells them he is going to Jamestown and they want to go. They go on the voyage to Jamestown. During this voyage Dr. Crider falls over board, the ship crashes and they get shipwrecked, and their lion door knocker gets stolen.
