K. I. S. S. e t i t e m u p p d l e e n t Start with a visual Inspection of the system or systems effected.

The next slide is my example of how a flow chart is used.

Did you find anything wrong on the visual inspection? Yes, Repair as needed. No! Is it an electrical system? Yes! Check fusses, connectors, & bulbs replace as needed. Did this repair the problem? Yes, congratulations! No, use a wiring diagram for further trouble- shooting. Is it a Hydraulic system? Check fluid levels. Mechanical system? Check linkage & operation. Is it a Electronic system, or Diagnostic code? Check fusses & connectors. Check inputs & outputs. No!

The next slide is an example of one type of diagnostic flow chart for a blower motor problem Similar charts are used for Brakes, Steering, Suspension, Heating & Air Conditioning, Electrical diagnosis, etc.

PERFORM FUNCTIONAL TEST SET AT HIGH IGNITION ON #4 low blower only Measure programmer voltage from pins T (circuit 976) to N (circuit 155) with connector in place Less than 1 volt Greater than 1 volt Replace power module Measure programmer voltage from pins R (circuit 972) to N (circuit 155) with connector in place Greater than 1 volt Replace programmer Less than 1 volt Check circuit 972 for short to ground Replace control head
