Application Software Application software is used to perform specific tasks. Some application software needs to be used within a particular operating system & sometimes needs special computer. BACK NEXT HOME

(i) Written Software It is a software that is programmed or written by a programmer. Usually it takes up a lot of time to finish the software and more expensive to hire a programmer to do. Needs a lot specialties and expertise from the programmer skills to do the program which is requested by any organisation. It is like writing a suite of programs using certain language to perform the required tasks. Examples of software is like organisation specific file system and so on. BACK HOME NEXT

(ii) Off-The-Shelf Software Is the ready-made software which is available and can be bought from any computer shop easily. It is cheaper than hiring a programmer to do it.
