Business customs, Greetings and business card exchange Ameena Ahmed– H Greetings DO shake hands upon meeting someone, including the kids. Start with the oldest people first. Men may embrace each other when meeting (friends and family only). Women may kiss each other on the cheek and embrace. Business Card Basics Have your business cards printing in Spanish on one side and English on the other The documents you plan to distribute should also be translated into Spanish as this will clearly demonstrate your dedication to the partnership.

Dress code In general the Spanish have a very modern outlook on clothing in small villages Swim-wear and short skirts are frowned upon, Long dresses or skirts are fine The seating arrangements at meetings Do not begin eating until the host says, "Buen apetito!" Also, do not switch knives and forks. The knife remains in the right hand, and the fork in the left. When you finished, the knife and fork are laid parallel to each other across the right side. In contrast that, lay your cutlery down on either side of the plate to show that you don’t finish. Gift exchange: When offering any gift, you should ensure that it is a high-quality item If you are invited to a Spanish home, you should take chocolates, or flowers.. it’s not acceptable giving anything too extravagant as your generosity may be perceived as a bribe. Dress code, the seating arrangements at meetings and gift exchange
