 Students will have a better drive to come to physical education class if they can incorporate new technologies  Students will be able to learn the sciences behind physical education  Out dated equipment could cause a lag in our student’s learning abilities (not up to par)

Pedometers are devices that students can use throughout physical education class in order to count how many steps they have taken. Using this device: Encourages students to move around as much as possible to increase their score Allows for competitiveness within the class room Teaches students that a simple exercise such as walking can improve their health tremendously Helps with their math skills (reading numbers)

Treadmills and step machines can be used for cardiovascular endurance. Weather is usually a big issue when it comes to PE; not being able to go outside enables teachers to get in long distance, cardiovascular workouts into lesson plans. Using these devices: Allows students to train at all different levels and intervals Gives students the freedom to run at their own pace and not get embarrassed for feel pressured to work harder when people pass them

Hydrostatic underwater weighing measures your body composition (body fat compared to your total mass). BY using this piece of equipment students will be able to configure their total body fat. This use of equipment is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. No Student is forced to use it in the least bit. Using this device: Allows students to better their health by knowing their total body fat Teaches students a unique way of measuring body fat by using water displacement (incorporating science)

Resistance bands are exactly what they sound like; they provide resistance to stimulate the muscles. They’re almost like big rubber bands used to help students stretch their muscles both prior and post workout. Using this device: Increases student’s flexibility thus increasing their health Can be used as a tool to increase muscle mass **This piece of equipment is also pretty inexpensive!!!**

The beep test is a piece of software that is used to measure the students VO2max/endurance. By testing a student’s VO2max I will be able to clarify the intensity at which a student can perform at. Using this software: Gives me a basis as to how fit my students are Allows me to test my students and retest them at the end of the year to see their overall improvement
