ITALY How do we save energy?

SOME STRATEGIES TO SAVE ENERGY: Turn off the lights when you leave the room Unplug the charger when your device is charged Control home temperature Start the dishwasher only when it is full Prefer hand wash to washing-machine Don`t leave your electrical devices in stand-by but turn them off

HOW WE USE ENERGY: Heating 55% Car 31% Heating water 7% Fridge, washing mashine 4% Kitchen 2% Lighting 1%

20% of electric energy saved (almost 100€) TOTAL CONSUMPTION IN 2012 61 milions of Italian people consumed 334,6 TW. Each family consumes around 2700 kWh, but: Use energy-saving lamps + Turn off devices instead of leaving them in stand by + Replace old refrigerators with new and energy-saving models = 20% of electric energy saved (almost 100€)

In fact: Replacing 4 traditional bulbs (60W) with energy-saving ones (11W) you can save 43€ per year Turning off devices instead of leaving them in stand-by you can save 86€ per year Replacing an old fridge with a new one you save 23€ more per year (replacing obsolete devices with new ones allows you to reduce electric consumption up to 50%)
