Good practices in Implementation  No poor performing district. (coverage of enrolled children between 80% to 89%)  E-transfer of funds.  Dedicated structure at all levels.

Issues – Identified by JRM  Engagement of lesser number of cook-cum-helpers than the norms in Ludhiana district.  Funds for reimbursement of cost of Unsubsidized LPG cylinders have not been released by the districts to implementing agencies.  Disruption in the serving of MDM in many schools in Ludhiana district due to non-availability of foodgrains in the month of May- July.  Medicines with expired dates were kept in First Aid Box in schools.  No or very little distribution of IFA, Vitamin-A tablets.

Best Practices  Storage bins for foodgrains and cooking ingredients.  Use of double fortified salt for preparation of MDM.  Every school has been provided soap for hand washing.  Contribution by community.  Availability of water filters in many schools.  Provision of eating plates.  Dedicated staff for MDM at State, District and Block levels.
