Agricultural Territories at Risk

Using the map, identify the agricultural region at risk. What provinces are part of that region? What provinces are part of that region?

Answer: The Canadian prairies includes Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Using the documents provided, list the issues that the prairies suffer from.  Document 1  Document 2

Answer: Document 1 shows heavy winds and document 2 shows dry, hot temperatures. The year has different seasons and at times, agriculture is not possible.

Using the map provided, indicate the region. On what continent would you find this region?

Answer: The Sahel is a desert located on the African continent. The Sahel is a desert located on the African continent.

Using the documents provided, indicate the agriculture issues.  Document 1  Document 2

Answer:  Document 1 shows the dry season in the Sahel. Document 2 shows the rainy season in the Sahel. Agriculture is difficult to attain in this region, especially during years when there is no precipitation.

Answer: Bangladesh can be found above India. It is located on the continent of Asia.

Answer: Bangladesh has a rainy season (document 2) and a dry season (document 1). Bangladesh suffers from floods very often because of the heavy rainfall.
