Teacher Page Fourth Grade Social Studies Content Standards Addressed: The student will acquire a knowledge of principles expressed in the documents shaping democracy in the U.S. The student will understand the principles and processes of governance systems. Teaching Tips: Encourage the students to record their responses in their journals prior to class discussion. Prior to this lesson the student should have been introduced to the events leading up to the fight for freedom and the Declaration of Independence. Back Forward
