Innovators dilemma Changing norms and values of the society Linnar Viik

Innovation  Innovation is useful application of the new idea or method  In organisations it means –New or improved process –New or improved service –New or improved product  Innovatin in public administration is similarly achieving towards user satisfaction  Social innovation is useful application of the new idea or method for public good  Meaning of the innovation, public administration innovation as well as social innovation have been mystified and institutionalised in Europe

Social capital  Social capital is the degree to which a community or society collaborates and cooperates (through such mechanisms as networks, shared trust, norms and values) to achieve mutual benefits.  Social capital is oriented towards development and growth of welfare if values and norms of the members of the community are trustful and cooperative  Social capital deals also with very pragmatic, mutually beneficial activities  Social capital deals with both issues of quality and quantity of social cohesion and collaboration
