Stefan Gradmann: ECDL 2011: Our Proposal Hosting City & Institution “Berlin combines the culture of New York, the traffic system of Tokyo, the nature of Seattle, and the historical treasures of, well, Berlin.” (Hiroshi Motomura, US Law professor, 2004) Berlin School of Library and Information Science was founded in 1928 and is the only library school at a German research university. The Erwin-Schrödinger-Centre at the Adlershof campus will host ECDL Its modern, well equipped buildings are well suited for big congresses and since 2003 more than 50 congresses, workshops and conferences have taken place there.

Stefan Gradmann: ECDL 2011: Our Proposal Planning Parameters A three day main conference is scheduled during 26th – 28th of September 2011, preceded by one day for tutorials and followed by two days for workshops There will be a conference dinner at the second day of conference at one of the several convenient locations in the city of Berlin, and at least one excursion will be planned for the participants to learn more about Berlin and Humboldt-University. At least four rooms will be available in the conference venues for workshops and tutorials. The conference venue provides also plenty of space to accommodate posters, exhibits, etc. Hard copy proceedings as a volume of the Springer’s Lecture Notes on Computer Science series will be offered to all participants.
