Self Portrait Mixed Media Project

The Problem You are to create a mixed media self portrait using real life proportions. You are to use your choice board media. Your choice board media are: pencil, colored pencil, oil pastel, chalk pastel, or charcoal, magazines, and construction paper.

Research Find two Self Portraits. List their artist, title and explain how they used proportion. Learn how to draw a portrait using real life proportions.

Idea Generation From your collection of examples/images, begin to create thumbnail sketches. (3-5) Use your Elements of Art and Principles of Design to formulate these sketches.

Test Choose your best thumbnail sketch and create a more detail design, larger in size. Refine your ideas by choosing color schemes and test out different mediums. Think about how you want the final project to look.

Evaluation Did you follow the design process correctly? Did you consider the Principles of Design? Complete the self evatuation/rubric and ERQ. Present/share out!!
