What Is Availability? Availability is making my own schedule and priorities secondary to the wishes of those I serve.

Availability Be There Identify your responsibilities, and find ways to serve others.

Availability 1 Be Productive Complete projects and keep a schedule so that others know they can depend on you.

Availability 1 Be Productive Know what needs to be done. Set priorities so that you do not work aimlessly. Keep a schedule so that you can flex as needs arise. Use time wisely.

Availability Develop Useful Skills Develop skills that will make you a better coworker, family member, and citizen. 2

Availability Develop Useful Skills Know the trends in your field. Apply your training to your job every day. Listen to advice and instruction. Think through the results, and learn from experience. 2

Availability Communicate With Others Let coworkers know your schedule. Communicate goals, challenges, and deadlines. Be available at specific times, and concentrate on the other person’s needs. Check with your supervisor before doing something outside your ordinary responsibilities. 4

Availability Serve Cheerfully Get moving. Remember those who helped you in the past. Do not complain about challenges. Take satisfaction in a job well done. Look for ways to share the credit. 5
