We desire sin less and godly things more 2.Why do unbelievers think it strange that we do not join in with them? Why do they heap abuse on Christians for what Christians are doing? (verses 3,4) They may not understand why one has “switched sides”, we are truly swimming up stream A godly life troubles their conscience.

3.In verses 7-11 Peter gives instructions on how to live as a child of God. What does he say about the following? prayer If we are chasing sin we are not focused on God love love is the opposite of selfishness and overlooks the sins of others Hospitality Christian fellowship is especially important in times of persecution – fellow believers need our support and prayers

We don’t have to much in our culture Jesus suffered and said it would happen 2.What two reasons are given in verse 13 as to why we can rejoice when we are called to suffer? When we participate in the sufferings of Christ it means our faith is showing It is a testimony that we will go to heaven

3.What blessings does God give those who suffer for him, blessings that far outweigh anything we have lost? The spirit of the glory of God rests on us We don’t envy the lost 4.Peter is opening our eyes to the blessings we have when we are called to suffer for our Lord. What reason does he add in verse 16? We bear the name of Jesus 5.If we are not suffering, what should we never do? If we are suffering, what should we do? We shouldn’t seek out suffering When we do suffer we place ourselves in the hands of God
