Process for Selecting Materials  Committee met in the spring to review current materials.  Samples were obtained to make pilot decisions.  Meeting with reps yeilded two choices to pilot.  Elementary committee decided on two programs Harcourt and Scott Foresman/Pearson

Scott Foresman/Pearson  Strengths Online student text’s, workbooks and teacher manuals and resources.  Text has “read aloud” audio feature.  K-2 Big Books option Choice in selections of Big Books  Written on level with “kid friendly illustrations” Strong visuals to preview content with in-depth vocabulary development in textbook.

Timeline for Pilot Materials  Materials will be obtained by the beginning of October and be piloted until mid November.  Ongoing discussion will be utilized across the elementary grade levels to assure communication.  Recommendation will be made by January.
