Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” The Reasons Why: #1 The president’s name was added late to the list of defendants in the case of 239 protestors who were killed in the 2011 revolution against his 30-year rule.

Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” The Reasons Why: #2 Because of this mistake, it was believed that there was no point in investigating whether he was guilty or not, of the charges related to the deaths of the protestors.

Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” The Reaction: Some people in the courtroom were happy about the decision and cheered. The victims’ family members, however, fell to the ground in sadness and protested in the same location where their love ones were killed in 2011.

Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” While the victims family members remain hopeful that justice will be served. Other people believe the case of the 239 murder victims have taken several steps back, because the focus was on finding the former president innocent, instead of finding out who was responsible for killing the protestors.

Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” Who – Egypt’s former president, Hosni Mubarak What – Cleared of the murder charges of 239 protestors. When – 2011 (protest)2014 (cleared of charges) Where – Egypt, Africa Why – His name was not originally listed as a defendant. How – The attorney wasn’t sure of his involvement.

Current Event Presentation By Alexandria Carter – “Murder Charges Are Against Egypt’s Former President Hosni Mubarak’s Are Dropped.” My Reflection: If the president is guilty of a crime, then he should be tried in a court of law, just like a regular person. No one should be given special treatment, just because they have a lot of money, or power. 239 are a lot of people killed. Their families deserve justice. I believe everyone would agree that the case should be kept open until those who are responsible are found guilty.
