Geothermal Friends for the earth.

Geothermal Why do we need geothermal energy. How does it work? Advantages? Disadvantages? Quiz –time

Why do we need geothermal energy? We need renewable energy because it is very good for the environment. We need renewable energy because it warms our houses.

How does it work? Geothermal power works by the power station power station puts power into the cooling towers which flows down another pipe and flows down into the hot water .

Advantages, Geothermal energy doesn't produce and pollution. Running costs for a geothermal power station are very low.

Quiz time Name one disadvantage of geothermal energy? What can happened if a borehole is not managed carefully? Is there such thing as a cooling tower?

Disadvantages It is difficult to find suitable sites for geothermal energy. If not careful a borehole can run out of steam.
