CHARACTERIZATION PRESENTATION Calibration of Characterization Matrix for Xampling System. Eden Weinberg, semester 8 Pavel Vilner, semester 8 Instructor: Moshiko Mishali 4/12/ Technion High Speed Digital Systems Lab

Project Background Xampling sub-Nyquist System. The system is designed for blind sub-Nyquist sampling of multiband signals. It’s done by multiplying the signal by a family of periodic functions and digital processing of the results System components: Digital board: Provides periodic functions Analog board: Provides mixing and filtering 4/12/2010 2

Project Goal  In the mathematical model of the system analog board is represented by a matrix A. Problem: The theoretically calculated matrix bears little resemblance to what exists in practice. Solution: Post-production calibration is required. Project goal: Come up with a satisfactory algorithm for calibration problem, because the existing method is time-consuming. 4/12/2010 3

Project intended development  Anticipated directions of development: Automatization of the existing calibration procedure Research in models of non-linear components of analog board Search for a new set of functions to be used for the calibration algorithm 4/12/2010 4

Project requirements  Hardware: There is no anticipated requirement for new pieces of hardware: availible laboratory equipment and existing Xampling cards should be sufficient.  Software: Matlab, Labview. 4/12/2010 5

Mid-semester goals 4/12/  To gain profound understanding of the system’s current operation mode  To achieve new insight into calibration process  To learn Labview software
