All Experimenters MeetingDmitri Denisov Week of September 9 to September 16 D0 Summary  Delivered luminosity and operating efficiency u Delivered: 4.0pb -1 u Recorded: 2.7pb -1 (~68%)  Data taking efficiency u no major hardware/software problems  New records over last week u global run efficiency 92% (up from 85%) u daily operating efficiency 87% (up from 75%) u weekly operating efficiency 68% (up from 65%)  Issues caused 1+ hours downtime s Silicon readout and HV trips issues s CFT readout and downlaads s Loss of SCL signals for L1 calorimeter crate s Muon PDT failure  Accelerator halo u reasonable  Beam position u stable within 0.3mm from the detector center

All Experimenters MeetingDmitri Denisov D0 Detectors Status  Luminosity detector u Stable operation u Estimated luminosity measurement error is 10%  Silicon detector u Power supplies are running well - no problems for 3+ months u Noises stable: ~94% of channels are in operation  Fiber tracker u Stable operation with all channels in readout u Major issue is hot/empty groups of channels s in progress of studying this issue  Calorimeter u Stable u Different sources of low energy noises are under investigation  Muon u Stable operation u Major issue is “data integrity” s on the level there is data format corruption  Forward proton detector u inserting pots during most stores

All Experimenters MeetingDmitri Denisov He Concentration in the Hall  After multiple improvements He concentration in the collision hall is stable on the 10-20ppm level  We can even “detect” Tevatron quenches in the vicinity of D0

All Experimenters MeetingDmitri Denisov Data Taking and Triggering  Running smoothly physics trigger list 8.2 u stable over last 3 weeks u designed for luminosity in the range (5-25)10 30 u keeping high p t triggers un-prescaled at any luminosity s efficiency of top detection is ~90+%  Typical trigger rates u L1 trigger 0.3kHz u L2 trigger 0.15kHz u L3 trigger (to tape) ~50 Hz  Total number of events collected over last week u 7.5 mln  Reco reconstruction speed is improved in reco version u processing about 4 mln events per week u new nodes for the D0 farm are at Fermilab and burn in is in progress

All Experimenters MeetingDmitri Denisov Summary  D0 experiment is progressing well with physics data taking u no major problems with detectors/electronics/triggers/DAQ u all detectors are in readout u trigger list 8.20 is running on-line  Data taking efficiency is ~68% over a week, ~87% over a “good” day, and ~92% for a “good” run u multiple items designed to improve D0 operating efficiency are starting to pay off s voice instructions to shift crew s automatic crates restart after crash s etc. u record daily downtime is reduced from 25% to 13% - almost factor of 2
