The nervous system is the main control center for all body activities There are three major functions of this system: -sensory input -integration -motor output

The sensory input’s neurons detect internal and external changes and send the message to the brain or spinal cord. The integration’s neurons are called “interneurons” and are found in the brain and spinal cord and interpret the message from the sensory neurons to relay the message back to the body parts. The last part of the process is the motor output. The motor output receives the message from the interneurons and create a reaction in the form of movement.

The whole process is basically a feel, react and act system. First you feel the abnormality, like pain for example, then your body decides how to react, and finally how to act.

The nervous system is divided into two main systems, the CNS and PNS. The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and the spinal cord The peripheral nervous system (PNS) is made up of nerve fibers that extend off of the spinal cord and branch out, reaching to all parts of the body. These nerve fibers are found in the arms, legs, neck, torso, skeletal muscles and even internal organs. The nervous system works by the brain sending instantaneous electrical messages through the spinal cord, which travel out to the nerve fibers of the peripheral nervous system. These electrical signals control muscle movement as well as internal organs and their functions.

The brain is the only organ involved in this system. Within the brain, there are about 100 billion neurons, which are little nerve cells that work together by sending signals to one another. The neurons found around the brain (in the skull and around the vertebrae) make up the central nervous system. The other part of the system is the peripheral nervous system, which includes every other neuron that is found in your body.

Neurons are the little nerve cells that send electrical signals to one another throughout the body. Each neuron is about 0.1 millimeters in diameter and can be found everywhere in your body. Once they receive the signal in the brain, which would be the feel, they decide how to respond or react. Upon making the decision, they send out signals from the neurons in your central nervous system to the neurons in your peripheral nervous system to cause an action.

Make sure you have good nutritional support for your nervous system. Vitamin D and vitamin B12 really help with this. Exercise your nervous system on a daily basis. Writing can even help you practice sending signals from your brain through your spinal cord to your muscles. You should spend thirty minutes writing neatly with a pen on paper.

Paralysis: There is also no cure for paralysis, but five particular methods leave researchers hopeful for one in the future -Stem cell treatment -Peripheral nerve re-routing -Suppression of scar formation -Spinal cord regeneration -Radiation combined with microsurgery Meningitis: Viral meningitis can usually be cured at home within 2-3 days by drinking plenty of fluids

If every neuron in the human body were to be laid out side by side, the line would be approximately 600 miles in length! The left side of the brain controls all things on the right side of the body, just as the right side of the brain controls the left! The nerves found in the bottom of your spinal cord are grouped together and are also the most sensitive. Unlike other cells, neurons do not have the mitosis process. The signals transmitted by this system can reach speeds of 100 meters per second!
