Presentation transcript:

Ratio and Proportion Project Each student will create their own 3D cube with each face relating to each of the topics of ratios and proportions using real life applications. Students are to create word problems in which each of the following skills are used in our daily lives. After the cube are completed the cubes will be used as study guides and center stations throughout the year for review with all classes.

SIX SKILLS THAT ARE TO BE PRESENT ON CUBE Ratios Rate Similar figures and Indirect Measurement Scale drawing Percent problem with 1 step to solve Percent problem with at least 2 steps to solve

Directions: Each student is to create example word problems in which the skills studied in this unit are present and written in a way in which you have shown how they are used in the real world. (You may use any resource needed such as the internet, older adults who may use some of the skills in the work force, or books.) Then you will create a face of the cube with each of the six skills using power point. You must include your word problem on the cube and a separate piece of paper with the problem completely worked out for an answer sheet.

Directions continued: I will be reserving the computer lab for a day so you need to have your rough draft ready by:__________ and then you can design your cube that day. You may also use your gaggle accounts if you have assess at home to a computer. Be creative!!!!!! Have FUN!

RUBRIC 10 pts per face of cube………………..60 pts. 20 pts for following directions……..20 pts. 10 pts. for completing assignment..10 pts. 10 pts. for creativity and neatness…10pts. TOTAL NUMBERS OF PTS…………..100 pts.

Directions for each face of cube to get 10 points. Give create for any work that is used from the internet. (Pictures, etc.) 5 points for real life application problem using the skill outside of the classroom in the real world. 3 points creativity of the information on each face. 2 points for the correct answer to the problem worked on an answer sheet that will be included with the box at time of completion.
