A Very British Wedding Learning Objective: How do different faiths celebrate marriage?

A Very British Wedding

A Very British Wedding Challenge Each group is going to research into the marriage ceremony in one of the following religions: Hindu, Jewish, Muslim or Sikh. You then need to create a invitation to this wedding. The person you are inviting doesn’t know anything about the wedding ceremony so wants you to provide some key information. You will need to include: What people wear/dress What happens during the ceremony The symbolism behind the actions What happens after the ceremony What gift do you need to bring? You will also need to find a creative way of presenting your invitation. This is a competition to see how many RSVPs you can get from people in the class. The invitation with the most RSVPs will win!

RSVP Time Everyone in the class is going to be given a post it note which you will need to write your name on. Move around the room and read the different invitations. You need to choose your favourite invitation and place your post it note next to it to show that you are attending that wedding. Remember when choosing your favourite you will need to consider: Presentation Information Which wedding you would most enjoy attending.
