Protecting yourself online What you can do to stay safe

Things to remember Always log off when you have finished. If you are always logged on, people can use your details without your permission. Always close your browser after you have logged off.

Things to remember Keep your passwords safe – don’t share them! If you are using a webcam always turn it off when you have finished. If you leave it on, people can use it to spy on you without your permission.

Be a positive creator The internet is an open space and you cannot always control who sees what’s up there. So remember: only post photos and videos that are suitable to be seen by your family and friends be polite and respectful when tagging photos don’t forward other people’s photos without their permission.

Who is watching you? What you post now will probably stay online forever. Don’t give out too much information in your online personal profile. Some employers check people’s online profiles, so make sure that they will be impressed when they see yours!
