THE TUNING FORK OF LIFE YES, YES, NO, NO. Matt 5:33-37

THE GOOD NEWS FOR TODAY. An “A” is an “A” today It was an “A: 5000 years ago It will be “A” in 10,000 years. TRUTH NEVER CHANGES

1. THE OFF KEY AUDIENCE “This is what the Lord commands: When a man makes a vow to the Lord, or takes an oath to obligate himself by pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.”

Today we make promises that we think can be LEGITIMATELY BROKEN!

2. THE USE OF OATHS A confirmation of a statement in order to validate the truth. A promise made in the name of God indicates the absolute. So, an oath sworn in God’s name is a perfect “A”

“Heaven is God’s throne, the earth is His footstool, and Jerusalem is the city of the Great King.” Swearing by these does not let you off the hook, SO DON”T DO IT!

3. YES, YES, NO, NO LIVE BY YOUR WORD. When we strike an “A” on the tuning fork, the world changes…

It’s your YES or NO when dealing with loved ones, when dealing with none believers, when dealing with other believers. AND It’s your YES or NO when walking with God.
