GEOLOGIC FEATURE SPECIFIC TO GERMANY [Ariana] These are the Herz Mountains in Herz Germany they are well known in Germany and often visited by tourists.

A GEOLOGIC EVENT THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED FIRST HAND In 2002 there was a widely spread forest fire in Big Bear California smoke and ashes could be seen from miles away.

HOW GEOLOGIC EVENTS INFLUENCE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD If there is a drastic climate change in northern Asia, extreme events such as flood, drought, forest fires, and tropical cyclones may increase in the warmest parts of the country.

Geological Feature From Italy [Jessica] Mt. Vesuvius is a volcanic mountain located in the southern region of Italy, near Naples. This volcano is mainly known for it’s eruption over the City of Pompeii. Freezing what almost seemed like time because the people of the city were covered in volcanic ash, making them human statues.

Something That I Have Experienced In 2003, there was a minor earthquake that occurred in southern California while I was there visiting family. I was sleeping while it was occurring. Not much damage was done, but it was the weirdest feeling in the world to feel the ground shaking under me.

A Geological Event That Effects Society With the fires rapidly spreading throughout Greece, they may eventually cause more pollution, poverty, and deaths. The fires have already spread through to Athens and are out of control. This influences society because it will keep displacing people from their homes and belongings. Society it effected because the fires could, if not stopped, take over most of Greece leaving disaster everywhere.

Geological Feature From Ireland [Danny] The first geological feature that makes me rather proud of Ireland are the Cliffs of Moher. These are located on the coast in Doolin near County Clare. The reason these are so specials is because they stand so very tall and are made out of many different layers. For example the cliffs are layered wit siltstone, shale, and sandstone. So these cliffs have been around for quite some time now.

Something That I Experienced Moving on now I would like to take some time to explain a geological that I have been able to experience first hand. This event is simply Yellowstone national park. Why? Yellowstone is actually a huge super volcano that is constantly under pressure. This is shown through all of the geysers that are erupting throughout the day. Old faithful is a great example of this.

A Geological Event Effecting Society Some geological events that effect different parts of the world occur in our everyday lives, at least once a year sometimes. The first is a hurricane, it affects the world because it is dispersed throughout a very wide spread area. Most of the time wrecking everything in its path. When it then heads farther north it losses most of its strength but is still felt when it causes basement flooding in northern houses.
