Black History Heroes By: Shawntaa Brown

Ruby Bridges 1. In the 1960’s federal court ordered the desegregation of schools. 2. Ruby Bridges was the first black child to enter an all-white school. 3. The Ruby Bridges Foundation promotes and encourages the values of tolerance,respect,and appreciation of all differences.

Angela Davis 1. Angela Davis is a American Revolutionary. 2. She became involved in the Black Panther Party and the American Communist Party. 3. She co-founded Critical Resistance,a national organization dedicated to eliminating unjust imprisonment. Angela Davis

Susie King Taylor She was a pioneer in the struggle for African American women’s rights. Some her accomplishments include:being the first African to become a school teacher and the first African to become a army nurse in the Civil War.

Medgar Wiley Evers 1. Medgar was a field secretary for the NAACP. 2. He worked to end racism is America. 3. Before all this he was inducted into the army with his older brother,Charlie. 4. He fought in France,the European Theatre of WW11, and was honorably discharged in 1945 as a sergeant.

Michael Jackson He founded over thirty-six foundations. One of his foundations called Heal The Kids was set up to develop a campaign to help parents and adults around the world to educate them on the importance of reprioritizing their lives in order to bring children into the main focus in order to imbue them with the love and devotion which they so badly need and to stop the cycle of neglect.
